What Our Customers Say

Tamara is a phenomenal artist. I have tan skin and she helped me pick out a design that worked for my skin color. She was patient and gave me many options when we were looking at designs. She didn’t pressure me into any style like some shops do. She wanted to do whatever made me happiest and we settled on a beautiful purple rose.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We have answers.

1. How much do you charge?

Our shop minimum is $80, and our rates range from $100 to $125 per hour, depending on the artist. We provide quotes based on the specifics of your tattoo, including size, location, and complexity. This way, you’ll have a clear understanding of the cost before we begin!

2. What aftercare products do you use for the healing process?

We offer two effective aftercare options for your new tattoo:

  1. Derm Shield: This is our recommended method. It’s a type of Saniderm that seals over the skin for up to five days, providing optimal protection and easy care. We’ll provide detailed instructions during your appointment.
  2. Traditional Wrap: Alternatively, we can apply a thin layer of Vaseline, cover with a non-stick pad, and secure with a coban wrap. You’d leave this on overnight and then continue with standard aftercare once removed.

While both methods work well, we’ve found Derm Shield to be the best and easiest aftercare solution for most tattoos. It simplifies the healing process and often leads to better results

3. Do tattoos hurt?

Yes, tattoos can be painful. They often start with a stinging sensation and may become sore over time. Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, and some tattoos can hurt more than others. Many people describe the feeling as similar to rubbing alcohol on a paper cut or scratching a sunburn.

4. Can I bring someone with me?

Absolutely, you can bring someone with you! We just ask that all guests be 16 years of age or older to help maintain a safe and comfortable environment while our artists are tattooing. Thank you for understanding!

5. Do I need to shave the area being tattooed before arriving?

You don’t need to shave before your appointment, but you’re welcome to if you’d like! Just keep in mind that if you cut or irritate the skin (like with razor burn or nicks), we may not be able to tattoo over that area. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities!

6. How do you create your designs?

Most of our artists use a program called Procreate for all drawing and designing. This app allows them to create tattoo designs without the need for paper, which is a win for both creativity and the environment! Procreate makes it easy to experiment and refine designs, ensuring that every piece is just right before it hits the skin. Plus, it saves me time and helps me deliver professional results for my clients!

Artists also use basic pencil/pen and paper or even freehand on the skin directly. It really just depends on the style and preference!

7. How long does it take to design tattoos after a consultation?

Typically, our artists have a wait time of a couple of months, so we may not get to your tattoo right away. Once we start, it usually takes about a day or two to complete your design, depending on its complexity and the style being used. We appreciate your patience as we work to create something amazing for you!

8. Can you do cover-ups, touch-ups, or unfinished tattoos?

We’re versatile and can handle various tattoo styles, though some are more challenging than others. Here’s a breakdown:

Cover-Ups: Possible, but not always guaranteed. Success depends on the darkness of the original tattoo, its location, and the new design. We’ll assess these factors to determine if a cover-up is feasible.

Touch-Ups: We offer one free touch-up within three months of the original tattoo. This ensures long-term quality and visual clarity.

Unfinished Tattoos: We’re happy to work on these, but it’s important to understand that every artist has a unique style. We’ll do my best to continue the piece cohesively, but there might be slight differences in technique.

Our goal is to create the best possible outcome for your tattoo, regardless of the type or complexity!

9. What should I do if I have an allergic reaction?

We can’t predict ink allergies with certainty before tattooing. If you have sensitive skin or known allergies to dyes, please let us know. For peace of mind, we recommend getting a small test tattoo (like a few dots) to check for any reactions before committing to a larger piece. This helps ensure your safety and satisfaction with the final result.

10. How much is the deposit?

The deposit for tattoo appointments is a minimum of $50, and $100 for full-day sessions. Please note that deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred with 48 hours’ notice. Your deposit will be deducted from the total cost of your tattoo or tattoo session (for longer appointments). This policy helps us secure your spot while ensuring a smooth experience for everyone involved.

11. Can I get tattooed if pregnant or breastfeeding?

We recommend that you don’t get a tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding.

12. How do I care for my tattoo after my visit?

Aftercare for your tattoo depends on the method you choose. If you opt for Derm Shield, it should be left on for five days, with reapplication as needed during that time. Alternatively, if you choose the traditional bandage method, remove the bandage after 2 hours or overnight, then wash your tattoo 3-5 times a day for the first 5-10 days using antibacterial soap and warm water. After washing, gently pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel and apply a thin layer of ointment, such as Aquaphor. Following these steps will help ensure proper healing and maintain the quality of your new ink!

13. What does a normal healing process look like?

The healing process for tattoos can vary from person to person since our bodies respond differently to pain and the tattooing process. On average, here’s what you can expect:

  • Day 1: Your tattoo may feel sore, appear red, and secrete a bit of blood and plasma as your body begins to heal. It might look shiny due to this fluid.
  • Day 2: You may notice some swelling and increased sensitivity. The tattoo might feel drier than the previous day as the plasma dries up, and it may start to scab if you’re not using Derm Shield or Saniderm.
  • Days 3-4: Itching is common as your skin continues to recover. You might see scabbing or, with quality application, flaking and peeling, which is completely normal!

Once the scabbing and flaking have resolved, your tattoo may still appear slightly shiny as it finishes healing. You should be able to swim after 7-10 days, and it should be fully healed (with little to no shine) within a month. Remember, proper aftercare is key to achieving the best results!

14. Can I swim after getting a tattoo?

Swimming after getting a tattoo is strictly prohibited! Doing so increases your risk of redness, swelling, and bacterial infections, including serious conditions like staph or MRSA, especially when exposing an open wound to any body of water. We even advise against taking baths in your own tub as a precaution. To ensure your tattoo heals properly and maintains its quality, it’s best to wait at least 2-4 weeks before swimming. Your skin needs time to recover, and protecting your new ink is essential for a successful healing process.

15. Do you take walk-ins?

We definitely welcome walk-ins whenever possible! Our schedule can get pretty full, but cancellations do happen, and we’re always happy to accommodate someone if we can. Feel free to stop by and see if we have availability!
